Tomatin  juniper bush hill

Founded in 1897 this distillery was once one of the largest single malt producers in Scotland in 1974, 23 stills produced about 12.000.000 litres of pure alcohol.  Today the production sank to about 2 million litres per year. Eleven original stills were dismantled in 2002 to downsize its production volume. Target in 2014 was 2,2 million litres of pure alcohol.

In 2004 Tomatin Single Malt came back to the market. Other expressions followed, there is also a four-year-old peated version bottled in 2010.
