The visitor centre with a tasting room, a shop and a café were opened in June 2015.

Jack Teeling‘s whiskey roots go back to 1782 when the Teelings produced whiskey in Marrowbone Lane, the Dublin centre of distilling and brewing in the old days.

The future distillery will have a capacity of about 500,000 litres of pure alcohol per year. At the beginning of production the target is about 200.000 LPA. There are three pot stills to produce either pot still or single malt spirit. A grain column still will not be installed as grain spirit can be sourced from Cooley Distillery, Co Louth, or from the Great Northern Distillery in Dundalk.

Teeling Whiskey Company, Dublin, was founded by Jack Teeling, the former Managing Director of Cooley Distillery, to bring back an independent voice to the Irish whiskey industry in 2012. Teeling‘s

objective „...is to be the leading Irish whiskey independent company in particular taking the lead in driving choice and selection of unique handcrafted small batch Irish whiskeys.“ Jack says: „The TWC has managed to secure a supply of Irish whiskey which will allow it to create a portfolio of brands to provide an alternative range of expressions than currently available.“

Jack Teeling: "Our aim was to create a new Irish whiskey that is contemporary, a salute to our own provenance and which stands out for its quality and unique flavour...At present the Teeling Whiskey Company is an independent Irish whiskey bottler but we aim to get back into the distilling game to ensure a consistent supply of whiskey for the future and allow us to be leaders in creating a bright new future for Irish and Dublin whiskey.  We are at advanced stages of a feasibility study on bringing Irish whiskey distilling back to the heart of Dublin.” February 13th,  2013

The first new Dublin spirit ran on Monday, 30th of March 2015.

Jack Teeling said: “This is a huge milestone in the story of Teeling Whiskey. It has taken three years of planning, hard work and significant capital investment, but Teeling Whiskey is finally home. We are proud to be at the forefront of an emerging craft distilling movement and will continue to introduce high quality unique expressions of Irish whiskey to lead the expansion of the market in terms of depth and flavours.”
