The grain distillery was founded in 2007 by the French firm La Martiniquaise. The first grain spirit and Grain Neutral Spirit was produced in 2011. The production site is in Bathgate about 20 miles west of Edinburgh.

The State-of-the-Art distillery was planned by the Scottish firm Colorado Group based in Fife. The purpose built distillery is unique in the Scottish whisky industry as it comprises grain distillation, maturation, blending and bottling plant on site.

The capacity is 25.000.000 litres of pure alcohol per year. There is no malt distillery on site.
