Benromach  shaggy Mountain

Reopened in 1998 Benromach Distillery is another success story of the Speyside. Its single malt has gained worldwide recognition although producing on a smaller scale somewhat about 120.000 to 150.000 litres per year. Benromach produced the first organic single malt whisky in Scotland. The character is full bodied, fruity and with a nice and very surprising „edge“ of smokiness.

Benromach is doubling its production from June 2013 onwards:

“Keith Cruickshank and Mike Ross are very much looking forward to welcoming a third member of the team in the coming months.” As well as employing a third stillman, the company will build another two warehouses next to the Forres distillery as well as recruiting a brand manager.“

The visitor centre is very nice and offers various tours.

There is also a ,wee‘ museum of distillery equipment.

„Currently only two distillers, Keith Cruickshank and Mike Ross, produce the handcrafted Benromach range but as part of a seven figure investment in the whisky, Gordon & MacPhail is to recruit a third distiller and double the current production.“ July 2013

Benromach sales during 2014 were up by 27% in value and 12% in volume. October 2014

Benromach Distillery is located on the outskirts of the ancient market town of Forres - Sueno‘s Stone -. A four star visitor centre is open to the public throughout the year for tours and tastings.
