Glen Grant

The distillery was founded by illegal distillers and smugglers, licenced in 1840 the two brothers John and James Grant produced a whisky which set standards in those days. The tall slender stills and the unique purifiers produce a very clean light and complex spirit with a fresh malty flavour.

Glen Grant Distillery is one of the best selling single malts in the world (ranking in 2010 was 3th with retailers). 61.7 million bottles were sold in 2010. The annual production is about 2.500.000 litres of alcohol (2015). Most of the warehouses are still owned by the previous owner Chivas Regal Brothers/Pernod Ricard (2010). At Glen Grant Distillery there is a balanced distillation process (2010).

Campari built a new bottling line in Rothes on the site of the distillery in 2013. The new investment tightened Campari's commitment to its whisky distillery which was aquired in 2006. Rothes and the region has benefited and new workplaces were offered.

"Everybody at Glen Grant Distillery is more than happy," Dennis Malcolm said. The plant was ready to bottle in 2013. It was opend by HRH Prince Charles in April, 2013.
